Protomed is working with PCTs to help manage medicines in both care home settings and in the community.
The fact that Biodose accommodates both oral liquid medicines alongside tablets and capsule, enables home carers to assist with medication administration and to administer medication where appropriate training has been given.
Biodose has a number of unique features which improve safety of medication administration and allows a more cost effective use of human resources, which in turn allows more patients to be helped by home carers.
When implemented across a PCT, the benefits are substantial and can be measured.
Protomed is developing a range of new services using Biodose as its platform, with the single aim of improving medication administration in all care settings.
